acağı için in Turkish / acağından in Turkish
The two suffixes are used in the same sense. So you can use the two interchangeably. It is used with verbs. It is very similar to the structure “-mak için” that you learned in A2 level. These suffixes are used in the sense of “cause and effect” between two sentences. You can combine two sentences into one sentence using this suffix. The first sentence is “cause”. The second sentence is the “effect/result”.
1. sentence: Şehir dışına çıkacak. S/he will go out of city. (The reason sentence. It’s reporting “cause”)
2. sentence: Alışveriş yapacak. S/he will go shopping. (The effect sentence. It’s reporting the “result”)
⇒Şehir dışına çıkacağı için alışveriş yapacak. (S/he will go shopping because s/he will go out of the city.)
DİKKAT! The suffixes “-acağı için / -acağından” are used with verbs that indicate the future tense.
⇒Bugün işe gideceğim için erken uyandım.
(I woke up early because I will to go to work today.)
⇒Onu göreceğim için çok heyecanlıyım.
(I am very excited because i will see him/her.)
DİKKAT: The verb does not have to be in the future tense. You can also use it when talking about past future.
1. sentence: Sevmediği bir adamla evlenecekti. (She was going to marry a man she doesn’t love.)
2. sentence: Çok mutsuzdu. (She was very unhappy.)
⇒Sevmediği bir adamla evleneceği için çok mutsuzdu. (She was very unhappy because she was going to marry a man she didn’t love.)
The suffixes change according to vowel harmony ⇓
If the last vowel of the verb is “a, ı, o, or u” the suffix is: “acağı için/acağından” (okuyacağı için/okuyacağından)
If the last vowel of the verb is “e, i, ö, or ü” the suffix is: “eceği için/eceğinden” (geleceği için/geleceğinden)
If the verb ends with a vowel don’t forget put “y” between verb and suffix! (okuyacağı için)
These suffixes can change according to possesive suffixes ⇓
⇒Ben ödevlerimi yapacağım için / yapacağımdan bugün arkadaşlarımla buluşamayacağım.
(I will not be able to meet my friends today because I will do my homework.)
⇒Sen ödevlerini yapacağın için / yapacağından bugün arkadaşlarınla buluşamayacaksın.
(You will not be able to meet your friends today because you will do your homework.)
⇒O ödevlerini yapacağı için / yapacağından bugün arkadaşlarıyla buluşamayacak.
(S/he will not be able to meet her/his friends today because s/he will do her/his homework.)
⇒Biz ödevlerimizi yapacağımız için / yapacağımızdan bugün arkadaşlarımızla buluşamayacağız.
(We will not be able to meet our friends today because we will do our homework.)
⇒Siz ödevlerinizi yapacağınız için / yapacağınızdan bugün arkadaşlarınızla buluşamayacaksınız.
(You will not be able to meet your friends today because you will do your homework.)
⇒Onlar ödevlerini yapacağı/yapacakları için / yapacağından/yapacaklarından bugün arkadaşlarıyla buluşamayacaklar.
(They will not be able to meet their friends today because they will do their homework.)
Differences Between acağı için/acağından ve -dığı için/dığından?
acağı için/acağından: It is used with future and past future sentences.
dığı için/dığından: It is used with past tense, present perfect tense, and present continuous tense.
Difference Between mak için and acağı/acağından için?
acağı için/acağından: It means “future tense”. It is used with a possessive suffix. It is used in cause or purpose sentences.
-mak için: There is no time meaning in this suffix. It is for more general uses. It is generally used in sentences about request. There is a request, but it is less certain will happen or not than the other suffix.
⇒Türkiye’ye gideceğim için kursa gidiyorum.
(I’m going to the course because I will go to Turkey.)
⇒Türkçe öğrenmek için kursa gidiyorum.
(I’m going to a course to learn Turkish.)
